3D printing & CAD tools

View, measure and convert meshes and CAD files for slicers and modelling tools, and turn images into printable models. Files are opened on your device and never leave it, so large and confidential parts are fine.

3D printing & CAD

Meshes and solids for slicers and CAD tools.

Which tool do I need?

STL is the common format for 3D printing: a plain list of triangles, without units or colours. Use the STL viewer to check the size of a part before you slice it.

OBJ comes from modelling programs such as Blender; convert it with OBJ to STL for printing, or go the other way with STL to OBJ. 3MF is what slicers save projects in, and it records the unit: 3MF to STL gives you the bare geometry, and STL to 3MF a smaller file with the unit stored. The format pages explain what each format keeps.

Images become printable models with Image to STL: a logo, drawing or silhouette is extruded to one height, and a terrain map or greyscale texture becomes a relief. There are pages for PNG (transparent logos), JPG (photos and scans) and SVG (straight from the vector paths).

STEP comes from CAD programs. Tools for STEP are on the way and will appear in the list above when they go live.
